As a curator of Contemporary Latin American Art ( Co.L.A) I will create exhibition opportunities for Latin-American artists who live in the United States and abroad. The goal is to enlarge the cultural space, and grow a network for those artists who often struggle to find exhibition opportunities by themselves. We also welcome artists from another countries that feel connected with the Latin-American Culture and they can participate under a particular theme. Eliana Perez is a New York based artists born in Mexico and raised in the Dominican Republic. Her work explores female individuality through body image and identity. She is interested in questioning the existential and sometimes metaphysical aspects of the female experience and its own definitions. Eventually, this line of questioning turns towards her interrogates her own experiences as a woman and as an artist. "Beauty isn’t a pattern that can be simply explained, there is no symmetry in the body, just like trees and the human body. Trees are crooked, bent, full of cracks and holes, uneven edges and not standing perfectly straight at all, and yet this is what makes us stop and contemplate them.” Eliana has chosen drawing as her medium for her personal of work. The immediacy and expressive materiality of charcoal, graphite, and ink allow her to explore the subject matter with the gestural freedom that only drawing can bring. Getting transparencies and overlapping shapes to recreate the sense of figures and emotions.

Augusto Fanjul is a New York based artist born in the Dominican Republic. In his work, he is exploring the idea of being self-aware of the space the one occupies and how that space becomes one with the figure. By experimenting with color and the richness of the oil color, Fanjul intends to create sophisticated and complex figures that at the same time becomes one with the space that surrounds it. Space and time matters by the use of symbols that takes us to a specific time.

André De Castro is a Brazilian visual artist who explores the boundaries between graphic design and art as tools to engage with people on social and political issues. His work discusses identity, social agency and forms of signification. He combines a variety of techniques, including photography, silkscreen, paint and collage among others. Art and Activism is the underlying theme of Andre’s work and the base of his ideas. Art is not used for illustration purposes only but also as a tool and a mechanism to transform the given reality. His last project, Movements, portrays youth protesters in different cities around the world. Movements was exhibited in Miami during Art Basel (2013); Opus Project, New York (2014); Centro Cultural Banco Brasil in Belo Horizonte and Brasília, Brazil (2015); Caixa Cultural do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2015) and Espaço Espelho D'água, Lisboa, Portugal (2016). German-born and raised, Eva Mueller currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. In keeping with the philosophical expressions in her work, Mueller is an active member of New York City’s queer art and lifestyle community, and many of her art projects revolve around the hidden and the unseen of those nonconforming environments. The core of our human existence, how we perceive it and where we place ourselves and the naked body is the focus of Mueller’s fine art work. Her last solo show Flowers & Chocolate challenged the viewers perception regarding, beauty, taboos, racism and sexuality. Isabel is an abstract artist working with mixed media on canvas or paper she works in layers transferring images of maps and then drawing and painting with charcoal, ink and acrylics. The mapping of this planet where Humanity dwells is her attempt to represent the abstract places that act as a medium for creation and information. This imaginary allow her to recreate happy, nostalgic moments where elements of people's cultural, political and emotional experience intervene and manifest themselves Throughout layers of gestural images, srokes of acrylics and traces of charcoal and ink, her work represents her own idyllic albeit in inexistent space. Ana Abreu es una artista dedicada a la abstracción geométrica radicada en Florida, Estados Unidos. Sintió desde muy pequeña la llamada del arte, cuando descubrió que le brindaba la posibilidad de expresar, sensaciones, pensamientos e ideas que de hacerlo con palabras, lo cual fue con mayor dificultad. Para ella crea una obsesión, utiliza el dibujo para esbozar y organizar ideas y sus pasiones, la pintura y la escultura. Siempre abstrayendo las formas negativas y positivas que nos hacen naturaleza, convirtiéndose en líneas que forman una geometría perfecta. Rindiendo homenaje a esa seguridad y abrigo que menos dan los árboles y que cada día me sorprenden más con sus formas inútiles y luego descubren que son perfectos. Entre maderas, telas y pastos, mezcla de colores, manipulando como pintura acrílica como Oleo, dedica su tiempo a trabajar en la creación de un universo. Abstraer formas, abstraer pensamientos y situar cada idea de manera que pueda adquirir sentido estético y poder admirar algo que finalmente es tangible, y muy importante para poder compartirlo. Esa comunión que se forma cuando se muestra una Idea y se da en forma de Obra, ese sentimiento de haber grabado todos esos sentimientos en una pieza es simplemente el motor que mueve al Artista.

Sari Nordman es una bailarina, coreógrafa y videoartista radicada en Nueva York. Le encanta viajar a lugares aislados del mundo y sus bailes y videos están estrechamente relacionados con la naturaleza y la historia. En su trabajo contempla la naturaleza en lugares específicos y combinada con su investigación de sentido personal yuxtapone la mística femenina con ansiedades ambientales. Más recientemente ha presentado su trabajo para Dance Film Lab Moderated Screening en Gibney Dance Center, SHIM Finland en Odetta Gallery, Performance Mix Festival y UnSpace Gallery en los Estados Unidos; Festival TsakBam en Grecia; y para el Parque de las Estatuas de Alpo Jaakola, Eckerö Post and Customs House, Teatteri Avoimet Ovet y Zodiak en Finlandia. Tiene un MFA de NYU / Tisch School of the Arts.
